Overview

Spanish Honor Society

Description: The Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica is an honor society for high school students enrolled in Spanish, sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese (AATSP). The mission of the Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica is to recognize high school achievement in Spanish and to promote interest in Hispanic studies.

Members must be enrolled in or have taken Spanish II and have plans to take Spanish III. Members must also have a minimum 90% unweighted cumulative average of all high school Spanish courses and a minimum 80% unweighted cumulative average of all completed high school courses. 

Students must submit an application and pay an initial $25 membership fee with a yearly $15 renewal fee. Each year students must also complete 10 service hours that are Spanish or club related and 5 service hours outside of the club.
