PSAT Pre-SAT

PSAT

PSAT Testing

  • The Fall 2022 PSAT is scheduled for Tuesday, October 25th.

  • Students enrolled in the 9th and 10th grades are automatically registered and will take the PSAT on Tuesday, October 25th.

    • Why do 9th and 10th grade students take the PSAT? Taking the PSAT in 9th and 10th grade helps students identify their current scoring level and provides information about how they can improve for the future.

  • The PSAT is an optional test for 11th grade students and 11th grade students are encouraged to participate.

    • Why should an 11th grade student take the PSAT? Students should be sure to take the PSAT/NMSQT in 11th grade if they are interested in qualifying for the National Merit Scholarship or any other scholarships offered through the test.  In addition, taking the PSAT is an excellent way to prepare for the SAT.

    • If you are an 11th grade student that would like to register for the PSAT, please complete registration for the Fall 2022 PSAT by September 12th (the registration system will close at exactly 11:59PM on September 12th).

    • After you have completed registration, you must pay the $18 fee online via SchoolPay

    • PSAT materials will ONLY be ordered after exam registration is completed AND payment is submitted.

  • If you have any questions about the PSAT, please email caitlyn.cook@jcss.us.

  • If you want to learn more about the PSAT, please review THIS PRESENTATION.
